Mangaldai  :The State Information and Public Relation Department has offered a financial grant of rupees fifty thousand to critically ailing Kharupetia based senior journalist Manggal Singh Jhanjhari under the Journalist Medical Welfare scheme. District Information and Public Relation Officer , Darrang Manimala Gogoi on Sunday handed over the cheque of the amount to the journalist at his Kharupetia residence in presence of President of Kharupetia Press Club Srawan Kr Jha , President of Mangaldai Press Club Abdul Khaleque , local leading citizens Pawan Kr Jha and Pawan Sharma among others . Media fraternity of Darrang district expressed thanks and gratitude to the government for responding within a short time after receiving the application from ailing journalist Jhanjhari . Earlier on August 13 last , one time financial grant under the scheme were also distributed to four selected journalists or to their next kith and kin .
