Haflong  : Unidentified gunmen shot at Rupom Dibragede, Inspector, Food. Civil supply and consumers’ Department, Dima Hasao Haflong in his office located near Haflong Govt College at about 3.30 pm on Saturday.

Dibragede who sustained two bullets injuries in his chest was rushed to the Haflong Civil Hospital. Though his condition stated to be stable but one palette in still inside his body and most probably he would be referred to Guwahati .

Meanwhile several organisations including Jadikhe Naisho Hosom, Dimasa Students Union etc. strongly condemned the incident while demanding strict action against the culprits who have been trying to dislodge the peace and harmony prevailing in the district after a decade long trouble.

Police however confident enough not to allow such disturbing activities in the district of Dima Hasao which has regain name and fame very recently with active participation of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Dima Hasao police maintained that it could be a handy work of miscreants.
