    Published on June 25, 2011

Agriculture ministers of the 20 most influential nations have agreed to launch three initiatives from September this year to increase global farm production and exchange information regularly on key crops.

At a meeting held in Paris, G-20 agriculture ministers, including India’s Sharad Pawar, have also agreed on an action plan on the crucial issue of global food security.

An official statement said in New Delhi that the action plan includes suggestions to tackle volatility in food prices and enhance farm output globally to meet the increasing demand.

The action plan entitled ‘Food Price Volatility and Agriculture’ will be submitted for consideration of G-20 leaders in November this year.
