    Mangaldai : : In a bid to groom the aspirant students from the economically poorer section for preparing themselves to appear in the  civil services  and allied competitive exams the Internal Quality Assessment Cell  (IQAC) of Mangaldai College for the first time in its history has started a free coaching. 

    The three months coaching with necessary support from the Darrang district administration has been ceremonially launched on Saturday. In this connection an inaugural function function was organized where several prominent personalities including Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das  , Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah , Principal, Mangaldai college Dr Khagendra Kumar Nath  , Circle Officer, Mangaldai Revenue Circle , Nayan Jyoti Pathak , leading entrepreneur Anupam Deka, senior journalist Bhargab Das addressed the participants . Gurujyoti Das said that there is no dearth of talent among the students of the district and what needs is the proper motivation, guidance and application. He stated that things have changed from the last couple of years and in the last results of ACS and ALRS altogether eleven candidates from the district cracked. 

    Earlier Deputy Commissioner Borah warned the candidates not to rely on ‘google’ for knowledge.  ” Google is dangerous. Its information is not full proof. For knowledge you go through books and news papers .” , he included  . Similarly Nayan Jyoti Pathak stated that university exams are inclusive where grace marks may be added to get you passed. But  Civil services exams are exclusive. There your marks will be deducted in cut throat competition to limit the successful candidates. Dr Kamala Kanta Borah,  coordinator of IQAC, Mangaldai College while speaking on the occasion said that they have selected one hundred and twenty applicants for the first phase where as another three hundreds are still waiting in queue.
