  • Govt convenes all party meeting today to resolve deadlock in Parliament over JPC issue

    Published on February 8, 2011

With the Budget Session about two weeks away, the government is set to have a fresh exercise to resolve the deadlock in Parliament on the JPC into the 2G scam. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has convened a meeting of leaders of opposition parties today in a bid to break the logjam on the issue. While the BJP and the Left continue to be adamant on their demand for a JPC, Congress says it is open to discussing this demand in Parliament. AIR correspondent reports that after almost the washout of the winter session on the JPC demand, the government will have to come with an alternate proposal to end the deadlock.
