  • Hectic parleys in Cong ahead of release of Srikrishna Comm report on Telangana

    Ahead of making public the report of the Srikrishna committee’s report on the demand for seperate Telangana and united Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, senior leaders of the Congress Party held discussions at various levels.

    Top Congress leaders from Andhra Pradesh including Chief Minister K Kirankumar Reddy, PCC Chief D Srinivas, party MP’s from the state arrived in the national capital.

    Discussions were held with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, senior leaders including Pranab Mukherjee, P Chidambaram and Veerappa Moily.

    Views of Congress MP’s and MLA’s and preparedness to handle the situation after disclosure of contents of Srikrishna Committee’s report were the focus of the talks.

    After the meeting, the report will be made public and is likely to uploaded on the Home Ministrys official website.

    The committee has said that it has given a “roadmap” to approach the Telangana statehood issue and hoped that it would give “highest satisfaction to the largest number of people”.
