Guwahati : Assam’s sprint queen Hima Das has added yet another feather to her cap. The ‘Dhing Express’ has now joined the coveted 2 lakh club on the wildly popular social media application Instagram. Hima reached the magical mark late on Friday and commemorated this momentous virtual world achievement through an Instagram post. “Thank you all for your love and support. I will continue to work hard and make our nation proud.” The post was liked by over 68,000 Instagram users and many lauded her for the achievement. “200k is nothing, u will make it to million”, one user wrote, while another said: “You are an inspiration”.

Hima has over 203,000 followers at the moment of filing this report. It is to be mentioned that after setting the track ablaze, the sprint supertstar is continuing her winning ways on social media — and especially Instagram — by offering a few glimpses into her life in Europe. Her videos — such as the one in which she cooks Assamese-style dal in her hotel room, or plays ‘real life PUBG’ with her friends, have gone absolutely viral and earned her legions more of adoring fans. The golden girl’s achievement has caught the attention of the who’s who of the nation, with people from all walks of life — be it politics, media, or entertainment — coming forward to congratulate the sprinter who grabbed not just one, or two or three, but FIVE international-level Golds in the European continent within the last month. Hima’s exploits have earned her the praise of people from all corners of the country and seen her brand value double (from Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 60 lakh per annum).
