India and Nepal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Electoral practices and Procedures. The MoU was signed by Chief Election Commissioner of India S.Y Quraishi and Acting Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal Nil Kant Uprety in Kathmandu today. According to the MoU, it promotes co-operation based on mutually agreed terms and conditions in priority areas in the field of election management. It will also promote exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of management of electoral process , training of personnel, voter education and participation of weaker sections and including women. The Chief Election Commissioner S. Y .Quraishi is on a three day visit to Nepal.
