Clash of titans ahead in India open super series as top shuttlers Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu face off in quarter finals today. Sameer Verma enters quarters in Men’s singles.
Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal made a winning start at the India Open on Wednesday, beating Chinese Taipei’s Chia Hsin Lee 21-10, 21-17. The encounter lasted 35 minutes. Sania dominated her Chinese opponent right from the start, not letting Chia Hsin get a hold of the match. The Chinese shuttler gave a tough fight in the second game but Nehwal used all her experience and skill to close the match in straight sets.
Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu also entered round 2 of the India open super series. Sindhu defeated compatriot Arundhati Pantawane 21-17 21-6 in 30 minutes.
