    Published on December 23, 2018

Nuclear strategic long-range ballistic missile Agni IV was successfully fired off Odisha coast today. The launch took place from launchpad no. 4 of Integrated Test Range at APJ Abdul Kalam Island at 8:35 in the morning.

The indigenously built two-stage missile is 20 meter-long and weighs 17 tonnes. It has 4000 kilometer strike range.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation said, Agni-IV missile is equipped with advanced Avionics, 5th generation onboard computer and distributed architecture. It has the latest features to correct and guide itself for in-flight disturbances.

This comes shortly after the Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Agni-5 was successfully test fired earlier this month.
