  • Indian Navy captures a hijacked Iranian flagged cargo ship MV Nafis 1 off Mumbai coast

    The Indian Navy has captured a hijacked Iranian flagged cargo ship MV Nafis 1 off the Mumbai coast. Defence Spokesperson Manohar Nambiar said in Mumbai that the ship was captured with nine persons on board following intelligence inputs that it may be carrying arms, ammunition and contraband. Sophisticated and automatic weapons were recovered from the ship. Mr Nambiar said, the vessel had five Yemenis, two Tanzanians, one Kenyan and a Somalian on board.
