BJP working president J P Nadda today said that the amended Citizenship Act, CAA is for minorities who faced religious persecution in neighbouring countries for years and had taken shelter in India.

Addressing an event in New Delhi, Mr Nadda said those opposing the amended citizenship law are weakening the country.

Mr Nadda also took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying he has no knowledge and understanding of the amended Citizenship Act.

He also accused Mr Gandhi of misleading the country over the law.
