Jorhat : Altogether in Jorhat city alone has been organized at 88 venues while a total of 780 venues  from places of Mariani, Teok, Titabor as the venues are higher than the previous year, said Gautam Hazra, an organizer from Jorhat Town Station puja committee “Pragati” here today.

Mr. Hazra who is also a senior bank official cum social worker said, this year most of the puja pandals with advanced with latest design art and for cultural programs but the size of the goddess idols are lower in size than the previous year which will help easy carrying of the idols during the day of immersion.

Moreover stiff completion has been growing between seven venues within the city of Jorhat like JPR Road, Thana Road, Jorhat Town Station, JPR Junction, Rupahi Ali, Thakurbari and Lichubari Puja committee which is to be mentioned has crossed over 75 years of celebration while some had crossed 100 years , said Sanjib Nandi, the secretary of Jorhat District puja committee.
