A team of four AICC observers led by A K Antony will visit Karnataka on Friday and consult party MLAs to decide on the issue of the Chief Minister, after the party won the election in the state.

Newly elected MLAs are likely to meet too.

All eyes are now on who will head the Congress government in Karnataka as the party has kept up the suspense over its Chief Ministerial candidate.

As Congress secured a splendid majority, media reports suggest that the race for the office of Chief Minister is now seen as having narrowed down to veteran M Mallikarjuna Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah.

The third contender and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara lost from the Koratagere seat.
