Kokrajhar: The Kokrajhar district administration is all prepared to celebrate the 72^nd Independence day in a grand day.

All preparation have been completed with the administration giving a finishing touch for the I-day celebration at Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose school Playground where BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary will hoist the nation tricolour. A full dress rehearsal was done and the final parade would be performed on Independence day with enthusiasm and patriot in mind. Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Niranjan Baruah today took stock of the final preparation.

Elaborate security arrangement have been made in the district and neighbouring areas, including in Indo-Bhutan border and inter-state border areas to thwart any evil designs by the divisive and anti-social elements  .

Kokrajhar superintendent of police Rajen Singh said that all possible steps have been taken to thwart any evil designs by the divisive elements in the district.
‘The administration has deployed strong security vigil in all the areas to avoid the unwanted incident during the Independence day celebration in the district, he said.

He said Police, Army, CRPF, SSB and other security forces are on high alert to prevent any disturbance.

Like the preceding years, the administration has chalked out a day long programme for August 15 like prabhat phery at 4.30 AM, playing of patriotic songs through Fixed Loudspeaker System (FLS) at 5.30AM,  hoisting of National Flag at residential buildings, shops, business establishments etc. at 7AM, hoisting of National Flag in the offices at 8AM, garlanding at swahid Bedi at 8.45,  ceremonial National Flag hoisting by the V.I.P. at Kokrajhar Government HS and MP School at 9AM followed by March-past, prize distribution, cultural programme, fruits distribution to the patients of RNB Civil Hospital and inmates of District Jail and football match between District Administration Vs. BTC XI.
