  • Launching of Measles Rubella vaccination in Dima Hasao

    Haflong : A meeting on launching of Measles Rubella vaccination, a long felt programme in Dima Hasao District was held in the office chamber of Joint Director, Health and Medical Services, Haflong chaired by Naresh Ghosh, Principal Secretary, North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Haflong.

    The planning for Measles Rubella vaccination is of 100% success with an ambition of covering each child in the age group of 9 months to 15 years in the district so as to achieve measles rubella disease free in the district. In this regard 1236 session sites are chalked out throughout the district. All the Government Health centres shall continuously vaccinate that includes Civil Hospitals, sub-centres and P.H.Cs. The vaccination shall be commenced from the school levels and Development Block levels through various points. The programme will also cover the private institutions and non-schooling children under State and District level monitoring.

    After prolonged discussion, the date of launching the programme was fixed on 17th August, 2018 and continue for one month till the end of the vaccination programme. For success of the programme all line departments are requested to keep close cooperation. It is also conveyed that a large number of children were vaccinated Measles Rubella in the Government Health Centres in place of Measles Vaccination, due to non availability of the same and that there is nothing that needs to be worry or fear about the vaccination.

    The programme was attended by M. Changsan, i/c  Addl. Director, Health & Medical Services, Dr.  Dipali Barman, Joint Director, Health & Medical Services, Dr. Kalpana Kemprai, Suptd., Haflong Civil Hospital, Dr. Lina Hakmaosa, SDM&HO, Haflong, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department and other representatives from various departments, police and media persons, N.G.Os and others.
