Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Madhu Koda was injured in a scuffle inside the premises of Birsa Munda jail at Ranchi. The Deputy Commissioner of Police K.K. Son said, Koda was protesting against alleged poor quality of food and some other facilities in the jail . He said a group of inmates attacked Koda while he was sitting on dharna within the jail premise. He added Koda received some injuries in his hand and he was taken to Rajinder Institute of Medical Sciences at Ranchi for treatment.

Meanwhile, Congress has condemned the attack on Mr. Koda.
