Maharashtra Health Minister Deepak Sawant has directed officials of his department to carry out an integrated survey of anganwadis in Palghar district to know the level of malnutrition among children.

He gave the instructions during a meeting of the task force that has been formed to tackle malnutrition in Palghar.

He  said that every effort should be made to improve the condition of the children in SAM and MAM categories. Sawant added that the government is striving to curb infant and maternal mortality in the district.
