Guwahati : An employee named Kathsingh Bordoloi of the Nagaon Paper Mill at Jagiroad under Morigaon district on Monday attempted suicide by jumping off a mobile network tower on Monday. The salary deprived employee was suffering from depression after the paper mill was shut down followed with bankruptcy. Along with the employee’s family pleading the person to get down, a huge crowd gathered at the mobile tower spot. After two hours of persuasion by the police, Kathsingh Bordoloi came down. It may be mentioned that the Nagaon and Cachar paper mills had been stopped for the last two years hitting the employees hard. The employees of Nagaon Paper Mill in Jagiroad and Cachar Paper Mill at Panchgram are reportedly yet to receive their monthly salary and other benefits for the last 22-23 Months.
