The nation pays homage to first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 55th death anniversary today.

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari and Congress President Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to Pandit Nehru at his memorial Shanti Van in the national capital.

An all-religion prayer meeting was organised at the memorial premises.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tributes to Pandit Nehru on his death anniversary.

In a tweet, Mr Modi said, the people of the country remember his contributions to the nation.
