  • NIA, forensic teams probe blast site at Bangalore

    bangaloreblstForensic experts, probing the Bangalore blast, say that the explosive device used in Tuesday’s blast near BJP’s city office was a pipe bomb which left at least 16 people injured, including five policemen.
    Karnataka government’s Forensic Science Laboratory personnel said that the pipe bomb was planted on a motorcycle having Tamil Nadu registration.
    The improvised explosive device exploded near the BJP office yesterday injuring 16 people.
    It was on the same day in 2010, that two explosions had rocked Chinnaswamy cricket stadium injuring 15 people including 11 policemen.
    The explosive was placed on a parked two wheeler.
    Several shops, neighboring houses and vehicles were damaged in the blast.
    Union Home Ministry said Karnataka Government has given a preliminary report and that the possibility of a terror attack could not be ruled out, but there was no confirmation about it.
    The centre has sent a general advisory across the country in wake of Ram Navami.
