  • Odisha govt decides to close all state govt offices on Saturdays

    Amid the rising Covid-19 caseload, the Odisha government has decided to close all state government offices on Saturdays. It has also decided to run its offices in capital Bhubaneswar and the twin City Cuttack with 50 % of the staff during the current month. Meanwhile, the covid-19 cases of the state have gone up to 1,06,561. However, 80,770 patients have also recuperated as reported yesterday. While the death toll has risen to 503, the number of active cases stand at 25235.

    Following centre’s revised guidelines to open up more activities, Odisha Government has allowed open air theatres and similar places, shops and commercial establishments to be back on the track with safety protocols in tow. Educational and coaching institutions and Anganwadi centres however will continue to be closed for teaching purposes till the Puja vacation in October 2020. 

    While religious places shall continue to shut their doors down against the devotees, lockdown shall be in place till 30th September in the containment zones as identified by the local authorities depending on the deapth and expance of the viral presence.
