Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a series of developmental projects in Odisha and Chhattisgarh today.

In the first leg of his visit, Mr Modi will launch a series of developmental projects in Odisha including an airport at Jharsuguda and unveil a plaque marking the revival of Fertilizer Plant at Talcher.

This is the first plant in India which will have a coal gasification-based fertilizer unit and will also produce natural gas.

Mr. Modi will then travel to Jharsuguda where he will inaugurate the Jharsuguda airport. The airport will bring western Odisha on the country’s aviation map, and facilitate regional air connectivity through the government’s UDAN scheme.

During his day-long visit to the State, the Prime Minister will also dedicate the new Jharsuguda-Barapali-Sardega railway line and two coal mines of MCL and NTPC in Sundargarh district to the nation. Mr Modi will also attend public meeting at both the places.

Prime Minister will arrive in Janjgir town of  Chhattisgarh, where he will address a ‘Kisan Sammelan’. He will also lay foundation stone for various developmental projects, worth more than Rs. 3000 crore. Prime Minister will also visit exhibitions on handloom and agriculture sector.

AIR correspondent reports, Prime Minister will reach Janjgir at around 3 PM after attending a programme in Jharsuguda in neighbouring Odisha.

Prime Minister is expected to spend nearly one and a half hour in Janjgir. During his visit, Shri Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stone for various projects of centre and state government.

This Kisan Sammelan is being organized under the Atal Vikas Yatra being carried by Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh across the state. This is Prime Minister’s third visit to Chhattisgarh during last six months.
