Kokrajhar: A team from the Purvashi Oil & Gas Ltd (POGL) which has conceptualised the Project Profit Brahmaputra (New Guwahati New India) project under PM’s Public Private Professional and People’s Partnership (PPPP) model today visited Kokrajhar to initiate training in business entrepreneurships, job for economic inclusive & sustainable development, dredging & reclamation of eroded land.

The team led by the company CEO & CMD PK Dutta today visited Central Institute of Technology, Bodoland University, Kokrajhar Science College, Kokrajhar Government College and meet the head of the institutions and briefed on initiating training to the local youths who have applied against the advertisement by the company .

Talking to Reporters CEO & CMD of the POGL Development Group PK Dutta said New Guwahati New India project under PM’s PPPP model by scientific & healthy management will start up soon for which entrepreneurship development program will be initiated in Kokrajhar.

He said dredging of the Brahmaputra bed will not only be a permanent solution to the flood and erosion problems caused by the mighty river but also enhanced productivity and resource utilisation which will turn adversities to opportunities in transforming Assam & NE to a safe, secured and prosperous region.

He said PROFIT BRAHMAPUTRA is a privately-organized initiative with the aim of optimising world’s 4th largest river system’s resources for the next-generation socioeconomic growth of the Brahmaputra valley communities. He said primary focus has been on wealth creation, employment generation, income enhancement for the riparian inhabitants of the NE India; there by, contribute directly in generating revenues for the Government of Assam. The key features of River Restoration project to extract the value of the mighty Brahmaputra are Enhancements of River Banks, Islands and Sand Bars’ Stability for targeted riverbank communities within the Brahmaputra Basin of Assam, Increasing the use of Waterways by Re-configuring the existing Channels, using river dredging and development technologies. Focus has been to train and manage unstable reaches of the Brahmaputra between Sodiya and Dhubri.

He also said it will create employment opportunities through direct infusion of green investments, which are linked directly for the improvements of river-bank communities to crate sustainable water-energy-food security, manage and control the endemic floods & erosions. It will also concurrently, interlink economic and social activities of the PROFT BRAHMAPUTRA to various renewable energy, ports and coastal development projects following the targeted missions of the Govt. of India e.g.“Act East Policy”, “ NITTI Aayog Centrally Sponsored Schemes”, ”Make in India” and “Digitisation Projects”
