  • Police and VDP rendered selfless service in flood hit areas in Mangaldai

     MANGALDAI : : With the situation under Mangaldai Police Station running peacefully , the officials of the Police Station have spared some time for benevolent public works for some flood ravaged areas. In one such effort , outside their routine law and order practice, a police team led by Officer in Charge of Mangaldai Police Station Inspector Mukut Kakati with the active cooperation of the volunteers of Village Defence Party (VDP) on May 31 took initiative to repair the breached portion of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika memorial path connecting Mangaldai with Chereng chapori engaging tractors and excavators. The team also carried out a plantation programme along the road as measures of possible erosion protection . Deputy Adviser of VDP Mukut Saikia, Circle Organizer Kushal Medhi, President of Mangaldai Thana Committee of VDP, Nayan Das also took part in the initiatives.
