Haflong: The POWERGRID has lodged an FIR against the NHIDCL at Harangajao Police Station on Thursday.
The FIR was addressed to the Officer-in-Charge, Harangajao Police Station, DimaHasao Assam against benching work at the Loc. No. 111 of 132kV Haflong –Jiribam line.
In the F.I.R, the Deputy Manager 132 KV POWERGRID, Haflong L. Zote stated that the earth cutting/benching work done by the National Highway Infrastructures Development Corporation Limited at downhill side of our existing tower location no-111 of 132 kV S/C HFG-JBM TL near Dittakchera without prior intimation from POWERGRID, where the said location to be shifted to facilitate the construction of NH-54.
Zote further mentioned that being the rainy season the existing tower location (Tower location No-111) became vulnerable/endangered as it may happen a landslide which may result in collapse the tower.
Mention may be made here that due to such earth cutting below the tower of high power transmission line has become serious concern among the public as it posed a serious threat to human life and also to the traffic.
