President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Mnamohan Singh on Thursday greeted the nation on the occasion on Navroz -the Parsi New Year .

“On the happy occasion of Navroz, I send my greetings and good wishes to all my Parsi fellow citizens,” Patil said.

“May the year ahead bring happiness, joy and fulfillment to our people and instill pride in our composite culture and pluralistic society,” she added.

Ansari said Navroz reflects the spirit of fraternity and compassion among the people of India.

The Prime Minister said Navroz symbolizes new beginning and is traditionally considered to be a harbinger of peace and prosperity.
