In the meantime, he said that connectivity on the Brahmaputra was not done earlier. Due to this, connectivity challenge continued in Assam and north-east.

The bridge will also prove to be important for international traffic to other countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that the years old demand of the Assamese has begun to be completed today with the Bhojan puja of the bridge. The 8 km bridge connecting Kalibari Ghat to Jorhat will become the lifeline of thousands of families of Majuli. This bridge is going to be a bridge of convenience and possibilities for you.
