Kokrajhar : Rakesh Roushan took charge as the new superintendent of police (SP) of Kokrajhar district. Roushan takes over the charge from Rajen Singh, who has been transferred as SP of Biswanath, the post that Roushan was serving before being transferred here in Kokrajhar.

Speaking to media persons after taking charge of his new office, SP sought cooperation from the public to maintain peace and harmony in the district. “All the police department, including me as a SP of the district is here serve the people. If there is any problem anyone can meet me in the office or called me or give information. I am sure to get help and cooperation from all including the media, he said.

When asked about the preparedness for the forthcoming BTC election, he said he is confident that the election will be peaceful one. “We will start the preparations as soon as we receive the notification. We will ensure that the election passed off peaceful and do whatever necessary to ensure peaceful election, he said.
