Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram Division of Southern Railway organized various activities across the division today to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the birth anniversary of Shri Sardhar Vallabbhai Patel. At Thiruvananthapuram, a ‘Run For Unity’ was organized from ‘Anwer Gardens’ (Railway Quarters) at 08.00 hrs. by Railway Employees & Officers and had the participation of Railway Protection Force, Railway Sports Department and students of Lakshmi Bhai National College for Physical Education, Kariavattom, Jimmy George Gymnastic Centre, Vellayambalam and D.J. Sports Club, Vattiyoorkavu. A cycling team accompanied the run led by professional sports team members of railways.

The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered by Shri Shirish Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager, Thiruvananthapuram Division at Railway Divisional Office, Thycaud at 11:00 hrs.  Railway Officers and staff took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge.

At Ernakulam Jn and Thrissur stations, ‘Run For Unity’ was organized under the leadership of station directors today.
