  • Re-SVAYEM Yojana launched in Dima Hasao : Rs 50 thousand benefited to 1000 unemployed youths

    Haflong: Chief Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council Sri Debolal Gorlosa and Chairperson Ranu Langthasa launched the state government’s flagship scheme—Redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (Re- SVAYEM)  at District Library Auditorium on Sunday. 

    The ambitious scheme which would benefit around 1000 youth in the first phase and around 643 in the second phase from the district of Dima Hasao will get Rs. 50,000 each. The amount will be given in two installments of which the first installment of Rs. 30,000 was given ceremoniously to 5 beneficiaries in today’s programme. Total sanctioned amount for Dima Hasao district is Rs. 5 crore.

    CEM Debolal Gorlosa asserted, “This scheme is being provided to develop your skills, make best use of it, so that you double this amount and generate a stable income. This scheme provides financial assistance to youth through formation of SHGs in order to achieve self-reliance by way of different livelihood generations”.

    The main objective of launching the scheme is to provide proper employment opportunities to the people of the state of Assam. Through this scheme, many employment opportunities will be generated in the rural and also urban areas of the state. The unemployed youth can start new ventures and the existing entrepreneurs may take up to grow their value addition with the help of the support received from the government. 

    Others who spoke on the occasion was NCHAC, Chairperson Ranu Langthasa who encouraged the youth to take up income-generating activities, such as, in the manufacturing, trading and service sector. Further stating about the scheme she said it aims at providing working capital support to enterprising individuals and groups to undertake new activities or expanding existing enterprises. 

    During his welcome speech, Deputy Commissioner, Paul Baruah spoke about the scheme in details and encouraged best use of the amount being provided to the selected beneficiaries. District Agriculture Officer, Thangew also spoke on the occasion and vote of thanks was delivered by Liensonglal Hrangkhol. 

    Among those present were Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Dipak Jidung, other government officials and party officials.
