  • Redevelopment of colonies in New Delhi to increase green area coverage: Ministry of Housing

    Redevelopment of seven colonies in New Delhi will lead to an increase the green area coverage by about three times from the existing green space area. The compensatory plantation of trees will be done in the ratio of 1:10 thereby resulting in enhanced tree coverage area.

    Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said in a release that there have been misleading press reports regarding felling of trees of these government colonies.

    These colonies are Nauroji Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Mohammadpur, Sriniwaspuri, Kasturba Nagar and Thyagaraj Nagar.
