Guwahati : A review meeting on implementation of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) in Assam was held on June 1 at Udyog Bhawan, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati. The meeting chaired by Dr. K.K. Dwivedi, Chief Executive Officer, Single Window Agency under EODB cum Commissioner of Industries & Commerce, was attended by the Nodal Officers from 18 different departments. Dr. Dwivedi dealt on the changing role of government from “regulator” to “facilitator” and urged the nodal officers to ensure delivery of services as per time lines notified under Assam Right to Public Service Act. So far, 405 Services of 35 departments are available online. There are 16,876 numbers of registered users. Out of the 13,232 online applications received so far, 8249 applications were approved by different government departments/agencies. Status of department-wise online applications was reviewed in details in the meeting.
