Mangaldai : Maniksha Saharia , a class X standard student of Mangaldai Maharishi Vidya Mandir and a resident of Mangaldai has bagged second prize in the  school level national essay writing contest in English organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department , Govt of India on the topic “agriculture waste to wealth” commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi . The award carries a certificate of appreciation and a cheque of rupees twenty thousand. Maniksha received the award  from Union Minister of Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh in a function organized in the Krishi Bhawan on December 13 last . She is the daughter of Dr Sachin Saharia and Dr Manju Kalita both teachers of Mangaldai college
