  • Secular parties in Pak come under attack of Taliban

    attackwSecular parties in Pakistan are coming increasingly under increasing threat of Taliban for the upcoming parliamentary polls.

    In the latest such incident, An Awami National Party candidate and his six year old son were on Friday killed in Karachi, while they were returning after Friday Prayers.

    Banned Tehreeke Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibilty for the attack.

    The slain ANP leader Sadiq Zaman Khattak was contesting from Karachi for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for 11th of May.

    The attackers, who were riding a motorcycle, escaped after the shooting.

    Taliban have already announced that they will target candidates of secular parties such as Pakistan People’s Party, Awami National Party and MQM.

    Several of the candidates of these parties, especially the ANP have been killed recently during the election campaign. Due these attacks, ANP has been forced to curtail its election campaign and it is increasintly using social media for election campaign.
