The government has said that the situation of Novel Coronavirus is under control in the country and is being regularly monitored on a daily basis.

Health Secretary Preeti Sudan today held a video conference with Health Secretaries of States and Union Territories and concerned Ministries to review preparedness for management of the virus.

She reiterated that the new visa restrictions and advisories are issued in view of the emerging scenario globally. Ms. Sudan asked states to enhance the awareness activities regarding the d advisories. She also advised that the States and Union Territories to stay more vigilant.

The Secretary also informed that Universal screening is on for all flights from Singapore and Thailand besides Hong Kong and China at earmarked aero-bridges in the airports. She added that all the possible support has been extended to all the States and UTs to combat the situation. She also stated that 1275 flights and around one lakh 40 thousand passengers were screened so far at 21 Airports.
