Congress President Sonia Gandhi has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the provision for free food grains for another three months and issue temporary ration cards.

In a letter to the Prime Minister yesterday, Ms Gandhi said, millions of Indians are at risk of slipping into poverty following the lockdown due to COVID pandemic. She said that in light of the current situation, food entitlement must be expanded to address the hunger crisis facing the vulnerable people in the country.
