Haflong  : Sreejith Thiraviam , an Assam cadre officer of the Indian Police Service of 2012 batch, took over the charge from  Dima Hasao Superintendent of Police Prashanta Saikia who is transferred as the DCP, Traffic at Guwahati on Thursday.

Talking to this correspondent at his office chamber this afternoon immediately after taking charge,  Thiraviam said though I have been assigned with to assure the safety and security of the people of this district but also want to make the police administration a transparent one with people-friendly attitude. He also made it clear that he would try his best to find out solution for the infrastructure bottleneck.

The outgoing Superintendent of Police Prashanta Saikia who joined here on February 15^th 2018 had gained name and fame for the Dima Hasao police by solving several issues like mob lynching, kidnapping, recovery of huge arms and ammunitions and above all conduction of violence free, untoward incident free and also free and & fare election to the 12^th N C Hills Autonomous Council despite many constrains like poor road communications, terrain, scanty resources etc. Saikia while introducing the new SP with the local journalists he said during his 23 years of service he has found one of the best media team in the district of Dima Hasao.
