GUWAHATI : Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a visit to the North East. During his maiden public address in Assam, he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has removed all obstacles and taken the North-East forward on the path of peace and development. Amit Shah said the second BJP government formation in Assam means assam has permanently rejected terrorism, riots and is moving towards development. Shah also stressed that the people of Assam have voted for bjp for the second time in a row as “they have realised that there is no place for “terrorism” (militancy) and “agitation” in the state.

He further said, “For the last five years, the way the duo of former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the present Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has run the government, the people of Assam have given priority to the path of development. Himanta Biswa Sarma is the new CM as he gave priority to the path of development. I congratulate the Ministers of Assam, CM Sarma because they are a symbol of bjp’s second consecutive innings in the state. ’ Hitting out at the opposition, Amit Shah lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new cabinet and highlighted the Centre’s priorities towards the North-Eastern region”Since independence, not once has five Ministers from the North East been elected to the Cabinet.

This was done for the first time in PM Modi’s cabinet. This shows where the north-east is among the priorities of BJP and PM Modi. We want to increase the north-east’s contribution to development.Last year, in January 2020, Amit Shah chaired the signing of a landmark agreement between the Government of India, the Assam government and bodo representatives in New Delhi to end the more than 50-year-old Bodo crisis.

Moreover, a permanent solution has been found for the problem that has claimed more than 4,000 lives. With this Bodoland agreement, more than 1,500 armed cadres gave up violence and joined the mainstream. A special development package of Rs 1500 crore was given by the Central Government in three years to take up specific projects for development of Bodo areas, Shah said, the second time the BJP government has been formed in Assam on its own. The bjp government formation in Assam for the second time means that Assam has decided to leave the movement, terrorism and weapons forever and go the path of development. Shah said the way sarbananda sonowal and himanta biswa sarma have run the government in five years.
