The third evacuation flight under the Vande Bharat Mission of government of India left for Mumbai from Dhaka in the afternoon on Monday. The flight carried 104 Indian nationals stranded in Bangladesh due to Corona pandemic.

Earlier, two other flights on 8th and 9th May have evacuated Indian citizens from Bangladesh to India.

The first flight on Friday carried 168 medical students from Bangladesh to Srinagar.

The second flight carried 129 Indian citizens to Delhi on Saturday.
The passengers of the flight to Mumbai expressed happiness at the evacuation. They also thanked the government of India and the High Commission of India in Bangladesh for extending them all help during the process of evacuation from Bangladesh.

AIR correspondent reports, the Evacuation of Indian nationals from Bangladesh continued with the flight from Dhaka leaving for Mumbai today in the afternoon. A total of 107 stranded Indian nationals in Bangladesh left for Mumbai aboard a special Air India flight under the Vande Bharat Mission of the government.

Earlier, one flight each has left for Srinagar on Friday and for Delhi on Saturday evacuating the Indian nationals from Bangladesh. The passengers leaving Bangladesh expressed happiness and thanked the government and High Commission of India for facilitating their evacuation. In the meanwhile, Bangladesh today reported the highest one-day rise in Corona positive cases.

In the last 24 hours since Sunday afternoon 1,034 new Corona cases were found in the country. Eleven people died taking the death toll to 239 in Bangladesh. Government of Bangladesh has allowed shops and malls to open for a few hours from Sunday but most of the big malls in Dhaka and other cities have decided not to open for business till the Eid festival is over. Only a few local markets and shops opened in Dhaka and most of the other cities of Bangladesh.
