  • Three West Bengal MLAs, two from TMC and one from CPI(M) join BJP

    Three West Bengal MLAs, two from TMC and one from CPI(M) today joined the BJP in New Delhi. BJP leader Mukul Roy’s son Subhrangshu Roy who is a TMC MLA from Bijpur seat joined the party. Earlier, he has been suspended by the TMC for his anti-party” activities after the general election results were announced.

    Beisdes, Bishnupur TMC MLA Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya and CPI(M) MLA from Hemtabad, Debendra Nath Roy inducted into the BJP fold. More than 50 councillors also joined the party in presence of BJP leader Mukul Roy and West Bengal party in-charge Kailash Vijayvargia at party Headquarters in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vijayvargia said, those who are unhappy with the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee are willing to join the BJP.

    In the recently held Parliamentary elections BJP won 18 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal while TMC bagged only 22.
