  • Twenty Bangladeshi nationals to be deported from Assam today

    Guwahati : Twenty Bangladeshi nationals are all set to be deported from Assam today. As per reports, the Bangladeshi nationals will be handed over by the Border Security Forces (BSF) to Bangladesh Rifles at the Assam-Bangladesh border at Karimganj district of Assam.

    The Bangladeshi nationals will be handed over at around 12 noon. They are said to be on their way to the Bangladesh border at the time of filing this report.

    Nineteen of the Bangladeshi nationals who are to be deported were lodged at the detention camp of Silchar Central Jail whereas the twentieth, a woman, was lodged in a detention camp in Kokrajhar district.

    The Bangladeshi nationals who are to be deported are: Shekhar Namashudra (Sylhet), Sujita Chandra Das (Sylhet), Ikbal Hussain Talukdar (Sylhet), Isak Ali (Sylhet), Ajim Uddin (Sylhet), Amed Uddin (Sylhet), Samir Ahmed (Sylhet), Abdul Gafur (Sylhet), Chand Ali (Sylhet), Alim Uddin (Sylhet), Abdul Latif (Sylhet), Rabindra Das (Kishoreganj), Digen Chandra Das (Kishoreganj), Shah Ali Miyan (Kishoreganj), Ibrahim Talukdar (Kishoreganj), Faruk Miyan (Moulabi Bazaar) (Kishoreganj), Sayed Aal Amin (Habibganj), Rabiul Saddar (Gopalganj), Parimal Jaldas (Cox Bazaar), and Alorani Das.

    This comes close on the heels of the deportation of twenty-one Bangladeshi nationals through the Indo-Bangladesh border at Sutarkandi ICP, Karimganj on January 19. Notably, a total of 21 Bangladeshi nationals were deported to their country through the international border in Sutarkandi ICP, Karimganj on January 19.Prior to that, the first major diplomatic move to deport Bangladeshi nationals was initiated in October 2016, when almost 10 Bangladeshi nationals were sent back to the country.
