Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district this evening.

Police sources said the dreaded commander of Jaish-e- Muhammad Fayaz Panzoo was killed along with his associate in the encounter.

The identity of another slain terrorist is being ascertained. The sources said Fayaz was involved in the attack on CRPF patrolling party in Anantnag on 12th June this year in which five jawans were killed and SHO Arshad Khan seriously injured who later succumbed to his injuries.

The sources described today’s killings as a big achievement for the security forces.

The encounter broke out in Katu village of Bijbehara tehsil a cordon and search operation was launched by a joint team of forces in the area on the basis of a specific input about the presence of terrorists.
