Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today sought 13,800 crore rupees from the Centre for reconstruction and relief work in the flood-hit state.

After the first meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Uttarakhand in New Delhi, Bahuguna told mediapersons that the Prime Minister assured him of all assistance to the state.

He requested the Prime Minister for making more officers available to the state on deputation to expeditiously complete the relief and rehabilitation work in the state.

Bahuguna said financial assistance of five lakh rupees each will be disbursed to the family of all missing persons belonging to the state by 15th of August.

5400 people are still missing. Out of these, 924 are from the state.
