US : The death toll has risen to 22 from weekend US storms that left more than 3 million without power. Officials in Virginia said yesterday that three more deaths were being blamed on the storms. Deaths also have been reported in Washington, DC, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. Much of the region faces another hot day today. The heat is leaving the elderly and sick especially vulnerable without air conditioning.
