Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram this afternoon on a two-day official visit to Kerala. He will present the first Sree Narayana Guru Global Secular and Peace award to Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Dr. Shashi Tharoor in a function at Kerala Universty Senate hall today evening. Tomorrow, he will unveil the statue of freedom fighter Annie Mascrene and later deliver an address at the Government Women’s College auditorium. Mr. Ansari will address the Special Sitting of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary celebrations. Later, he will release a book titled History as a Struggle by Professor K N Panicker. In the evening, the Vice President will unveil the statue of Swami Vivekananda at Kowdiar Park and deliver a speech at the Salvation Army School ground.
