Guwahati:   In further development to the infamous Karbi Anglong lynching incident in which two youth from Guwahati lost their lives, 10 more people have been arrested on Sunday night, taking the total number of people arrested so far to 15. Earlier Anuj Timung, Babu Rongpi, Sarukan Sorgoyari, Dipjyoti Basumatari and Kangkan Basumatari were arrested by the Police. Watch Video Meanwhile, situation almost went out of control on Sunday night when the dead bodies of the two youth from Guwahati, Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath were brought to their homes and later taken to the Navagraha crematorium. Some people present at Navagraha crematorium even got into intense arguments with the police and the administration. Situation went so out of control that the senior officials of the police and the administration had to later move away from the place as slogans against the administration filled the air. The protesters alleged that the administration failed to do their duties properly and the two youth could have been saved if the police had acted promptly during the incident. On Sunday rallies were taken out at various places of the state including Karbi Anglong demanding swift action and death penalty for the culprits of the lynching incident. Members of the Karbi Students’ Union also lighted candles in the memory of the two youth from Guwahati condemning the incident. It must be noted that hoax messages continue to get viral on social media in various parts of the state claiming that child abductors from outside the state have come to the state. Reports of violence and mob attacks continue to come from different parts of the state even as administration try to create awareness that those messages are fake and shouldn’t be believed.
