  • 2G spectrum allocation: CAG stands by its report

    Published on January 10, 2011

The Comptroller and Auditor General CAG has said that it stands by its report on 2G spectrum tabled in Parliament in the winter session. The CAG spokesperson said in New Delhi today that they stand hundred per cent by the report .

Earlier last week Communication and IT Minister Kapil Sibal had questioned the findings of the report saying that CAG’s estimate of 1.76 lakh crore rupee loss to the exchequer on account of allocation of the spectrum were completely erroneous. H had also said that government did not suffer any loss in the allocation 2 G spectrum during UPA rule.

Meanwhile the Congress has said that CAG report itself says that figures of loss to the exchequer are presumptious. Defending Kapil Sibal , the party spokesman Manish Tiwari said that he is well within his rights to raise debate over the report as the opposition did not allow the government to present the facts in parliament.
