Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has appealed to people to maintain peace and tranquility in the State.

Talking to newspersons in Guwahati today on killing of civilians, he said a section of people, organizations, media and social media were responsible for the present situation by making inflammatory speeches and remarks.

Mr. Sonowal urged all to restrain themselves or government would take action against those who create unrest in society.

Meanwhile, 3 ministers of the State – Keshab Mahanta, Parimal Suklabaidya and Topon Kumar Gigli – visited Dhola and took stock of the situation.

Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia said investigation is on to trace the culprits. Suspected ULFA militants killed 5 people at Dhola in Tinsukia district yesterday.
