    GUWAHATI : The Assam Rifles has recovered one AK-47, two CMGs, two .32 mm pistols, two 0.22 mm pistols, eight assisted magazines, thirty-six rounds and explosives from Tamongbang village in Imphal district of Manipur. Assam Rifles shared information in this regard through a tweet. Earlier, the security forces apprehended a cadre of KNA from Moreh Town and in a separate operation a 9mm pistol, two Chinese hand grenades and assisted ammunition were recovered near BP-76 in Moreh district of Manipur.Apart from this, a few days ago, a mob of angry locals torched two vehicles of the Assam Rifles in a village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district after a man was allegedly shot dead by an Assam Rifles jawan. The camp was damaged. A mob of people torched two vehicles of the Assam Rifles, videos of which went viral on social media.Local residents said that the incident took place in Chalwa village, about 50 km west of Kangpokpi district headquarters. The man, who died after the jawan was shot, was identified as Mangbolal Lahowam, a 29-year-old daily wage laborer of Chalwa village in the district. Locals said that he was seriously injured and later died.
